Question
Hello i am doing a research assignment on abortion and euthanasia, and was wondering if you could answer a few questions.

1. What is your view on abortion, do you believe it is wrong?
2. What is your view on euthanasia, do you believe it is wrong?
3. Do you think both abortion and euthanasia are big issues with in the Buddhist community?
4. Are there any teachings that condemn or condone either acts?
5. Are there any circumstances where abortion or euthanasia is the right choice?

Answer
In practicing Zen, there's no need to hold opinions about abortion, euthanasia, or anything else. In any situation whatsoever, always put down I/my/me, and try to help all beings. Whatever action you take or decision you make, whether it involves abortion, euthanasia, or anything else, always examine WHY you do it. If the intention/motivation of the action is only for yourself, then it will bring suffering. If your intention is to help others, then it's no problem.
