Question
QUESTION: Dear Justin

Thanks for replying to my questions re- self. I could not follow up with a new question so would like to further the subject with this doubt.

Is Nibbhana a 1) state that is achieved by mind, so an effect due to practice, 2) place or loka for the "?" to attain  3)an inherent true reality which must be already present but unrealized.

You are totally right, in assuming my confusion at the moment.

ANSWER: Hi Jas,

I am not sure what you are asking.  Looks like you are asking me to tick the 3 choices.

Then I choose 1).

Please clairify if I misinterprete your question.

Take care.

QUESTION: Hi Justin,

Thanks for replying, just trying to clarify my understanding. Following your reply choosing 1),    Is Nibbhana a 1) state that is achieved by mind, so an effect due to practice.

However this troubles me, as anything that is an effect or result, must have a cause, thereby implying that it is created by a preceding cause (meditation, vipassana) and falls under that which is conditioned and  impermanent.

Answer
Hi Jas,

You are now confusing me.  Looks like this time you are not asking a question.  So let it rest.

Please don't trouble yourself creating self doubt from self-created hypothetical analyses.  You would not gain anything from this.  Even if you can find answers, which you will not, it is just academic exercise; not conducive for leading a contented and peaceful life.

Take care.
