Question
The lord Buddha has tough dhamma to the aliens. in presently also the buddhist monk going to start a dhamma discussion the firt few words taht they telling are request to come other planet lives also to listn dhamma as "Samantha chakka walesu". that mean other planet lives...
the aliens also students of lord buddha..
its true..

Answer
Dear Nishan Rangana,

Thank you for the opportunity to answer your question.

The Buddha never directly addressed "aliens." However, he did state that we are the only world that has creatures with Form AND Souls. All the other worlds only have Souls, but do not have forms.

The phrase, "Samantha Chakka Walesu" refers to the other worlds:

the hell world
the heaven world
the animal world
the human world
the deva world
the hungry ghost world

not to an "alien" world. But if alien to you means world that is different from ours, then yes, we "could" call the spirit world aliens, we could call those in hell "aliens." and we could call those in heaven "aliens."

The Buddha also taught that we should not try to prove or disprove the existence of aliens, the truth of karma, the powers of a Buddha or even the origins of world. He said these things are only known to Buddha and cannot be proved by mankind. Therefore, we should not waste our time discussing or arguing things that we can not conclusively prove.

I hope I have answered your question.

Sincerely,

Phra Anandapanyo

Experience

I have been practicing Buddhism for over 13 years. I started studying under various famous Thai Theravada masters. Finally, I met and studied under Phra Acariya Thoon Khippapanyo who has recently passed away on Nov 11, 2008 and is widely accepted as a great Arahant (fully enlightened) teacher of our time. In addition, I have personally read and studied much of the Buddhist scriptures and popular literature available. I have recently undertaken the ordination vows and have become a Buddhist monk in the theravada forest monk tradition. I reside at a temple with many dedicated practitioners and great teachers. I have been practicing training my mind to be aligned with right view (sammaditthi) for over 10 years. I have also been meditating for over 10 years. In my time spent with Acariya Thoon, I learned many things and was able to incorporate them into my life. In addition to practicing Buddhism within temples and my home, I used to own two restaurants and managed commercial real estate. I had to deal with many different and problems.
