Buddhists/meditation

QuestionHello Mr John
I’d like to ask you three questions and will appreciate your answer.
1. What is your favourite book (or maybe some course available online) on meditation?
2. What is your favourite meditation technique? How do you usually meditate? What do you focus on? Can you describe it to me?
3. I suppose there are loads of books on meditation out there, but I cannot find anything on the subject of CONTEMPLATION. To me meditation and contemplation are not the same and I’d like to find out more about contemplation. Do you know any good books on contemplation?
AnswerHi Luke,
I just came back last night after 2 weeks in Sri Lanka where I had difficulty in accessing AllExperts - sorry for that. Please give me a few days. Your question is interesting. Maybe you can have a look at our Study Plan at
http://www.euronet.nl/~advaya/index.htm in the meantime. By the way, last week I bought a copy at the Buddhist Cultural Centre, at 125 Anderson Road, in Nedimala, Dehiwala (Colombo, Sri Lanka) of Meditation for Everyday Life, by the late Godwin Samaratne, which makes very interesting reading. Are you familiar with any of the many books by Alan Watts? He's definitely a favourite of mine.
Kind regards,
Advayavadananda.
