Question
I am writing a paper for a World Music class on music/instruments/chants of Buddhism Zen/Tibetan.  Any chance you could help me with specific words/descriptions/ideas and, as importantly, other web sites?  I have searched Google and Yahoo and have not received anything of use.  Somehow I got connected to you and hope you can help (quickly!).

Thanks, Joe!

Answer
Karen,
Though I am a musician I have never associated music with Buddhism, no Kum bye Ah ( or however it's spelled) or “Gotama Rowed the Boat Ashore”,  here.  There is the bells/bowls of Tibetan Buddhism and a famous album by Henry Wolf(e) called ‘Tibetan Bells'.  Nichiren Sogai is a Buddhist sect in Japan that big on chants and they have a thousand websites.  That's all that comes to mind, sorry.  Good luck

I can answer questions dealing with Taoist philosophy and Zen and not the historicity and religion of Buddhism and its different schools. I studied under Dr. Richard DeMartino and Masao Abe of the Kyoto School of Zen.
