Question
I'm doing research on a kind of graduate program, career or employment available to buddhist monks. If you could help me find an answer or point me in the right direction i would really appreciate it. Thanks. Chris

Hi Chris,

Thank you for asking me.

I may have misunderstood your question; if not it sounds strange for monks to associate with some career or employment.  By becoming a monk is a "career" in itself.  It is a lifetime calling to serve others as well as to cultivate his mind.  Whatever your intention, you may find helpful info in this web site "www.buddhanet.net".

Experience

I was brought up in the 50's as a Buddhist. For the past 40 years I have read numerous books on Buddhism and listened to numerous talks on Buddhism by well-respected and learned monks and lay teachers. I conduct Buddhist classes for parents of Sunday School children in a Theravada Buddhist Temple. My teacher was the late Chief Reverend, The Ven.
