If you are a christian can you become a buddhist?
If so what are the types of Buddhism and how are they different?

Answer -
Hi Brian,

Thank you for asking me.

No; one cannot be both a Christian and a Buddhist, mainly because Christianity demands that one believes in God and Jesus.  And if one is a Buddhist, one would follow the teachings of the Buddha which are very different from Christianity.

Hi Brian,

I thought you didn't mean that because definitely anyone can "convert" to any belief.  Who is to stop this?  Unless you belong to some militant "religious" sect that will physically prevent you from changing under threat of death.  Then you are in serious trouble!

I was brought up in the 50's as a Buddhist.
