Buddhists/General Buddhism ideas
Expert: John Willemsens aka Advayavadananda - 2/23/2006
QuestionThere are actually a couple of questions:
-What do you think are the most important aspects people have tu understand, in order to accept the Buddhist religion?
-If you would have to decide which religion was the most complete, and the one that could fit the most, would you say it is Christianism, Buddhism or Hinduism?
-Do you find ethical and right to mix religious beliefs in order to find a more personally fitted path?
-What is it about Buddhism that you find unreal, or just not right for this century?
THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING.
AnswerHello Silvana,
Please excuse the short answers, but I am on the point of leaving on a trip to Uruguay and Argentina.
1) the most important aspect is that Buddhism is not a religion, but a non-theistic philosophy and way of life.
2) see 1)
3) yes, certainly, the opposite is dogmatism, or worse, fundamentalism.
4) the 4 Noble Truths of basic Buddhism will remain universally true forever.
Kind regards,
Advayavadananda.
