Question
What happens when you finish being reborn or do you finish being reborn?
Hi Patrick,
Thank you for asking me.
When there is no more rebirth, it means the person has attained Nibbana. "He" is no longer being attracted to the cycle of birth and death. He is out of this cycle of misery. To attain this state of Nibbana one has to completely eradicate the 3 roots of greed, hatred and delusion.... no more craving for existence.
The next question will be, where will "he" be then? Unless one has attained Nibbana, answering this question is just conjecture. The "best" answer is, when one is no longer subject to repeated rebirth, one is out of Samsara (the cycle of birth and death). It is said that Nibbana is not a physical place like "heaven". It is "existing" in the eternal bliss of perfect peace.
