Thanks in advance. I am currently in nursing school and I am doing research in Buddhism.  I would like to have information about varies things that would help a non-Buddhist understand and make the stay of the Buddhist patient a better one.

Thanks

Hi Tina,

Thank you for asking me, but I don't think I will be of much help to your question.  I don't think a non-Buddhist patient will be interested to listen to a non-Buddhist nurse talking about Buddhism, especially in time of sickness.  As for the Buddhist patient he wouldn't need you to talk Buddhism to him.  Unless I misinterprete your question, that would be my comment.

Answer
Hi Tina,

It is not possible to view all Buddhists as a homogenous group.  But I shall take the liberty to comment that Buddhists do not have any taboos or restrictions in terms of medical treatments, so long as it does not involve hurting anyone in the process of healing.

Hope this helps.
