Question
Is Buddhism connected with Tibetan Lunar (zodiac) calendar?

Answer
Hi Latvian
Buddhism is a path of awakening that has its origins in India. Buddhism moved into Tibet in the 5th century and has been strong there.

Perhaps you can expand on your question. Tibetans do use the lunar calander i believe. As do Indians and other Asian countries in connection to the spiritual path. The phases of the moon have certain symbolism in terms of Buddhism.

For example:
-  the full moon is like the fully awakened heart of compassion (bodhicitta) - Bodhicitta. So the full moon might be a time to link into this inspiration.
- the new moon is like the invisible awakened nature which is always present. The moon doesnt go away just because you cant see it. it is unchanging.
- the moons light is itself a reflection of the sun. the sun is like wisdom and compassion shining and forth and
illuminating everything.

Hope this helps
