and where can i go to become a monk. What are the
requirements? Any help to these questions would be very

Answer
Hi Matthew,

Thank you for asking me.

The very fact that you do not know how to become a monk means that you are not ready yet.  Becoming a monk is a very serious commitment.  The first thing one should do is to study thoroughly the teachings of the Buddha.  With this knowledge, one should try to experiment by putting the teachings into practice.  Assuming that you have already done this, and are convinced that monkhood is the path for you, then you can go ahead.  It takes a lot of discipline to be a monk.

If you are interested to become a monk in the Tibetan tradition, then you have to familiarize yourself by visiting a Tibetan temple.  You can find it from these websites:
www.buddhanet.net
www.dharmanet.org

Once you are familiar with the temple, you will be able to obtain all the information that you seek.  Happy searching.
