Answer
Hi Darren,

Welcome back. First, I must reiiterate that my comments are my personal opinions, which means you need not have to agree with me.

Since it is not at all practical to have Buddha image or anything symbolizing Buddhism in your room, you don't have to display any of them.  Practise the Buddha's teachings in your heart, in your thoughts, words and actions.  Good values are universal.  Your parents will be happy to see your good values and noble lifestyle.  You don't have to tell them anything about Buddhism.  When the time is ripe, and when you have your own freedom, so to say, you can then do all the things that you like.

About "instant messenger", sorry I am a complete computer idiot.  I only know how to do this!  But please do keep in touch.  I will be here to give you moral support and share my experiences and opinions with you, anytime.

Smile from justinchoo :-)
