Question
who is Buddha?

Answer
Hi Catalina,

Thank you for asking me.

"Buddha" is a Pali (also Sanskrit) word, meaning "awakened".  The root word is "Budh" meaning to awaken, to understand.  A Buddha is a person who has awakened from the ignorance of existence and has fully understood the true nature of existence. He has attained the state of enlightenment. The historical Buddha during this period was Gotama Buddha.  He is called the supreme Buddha who had attained perfect knowledge and possessed omniscient power.  He was the perfect one, completely free from greed, hatred and delusion.
