Question
hi & thanks for any answers.  i am very interested in buddhism & am reading & trying to apply the principals to my everyday life.  i recently painted my buddha statue to match my tiny apartment & now i am worried that this may somehow be disrespectful.  i hope not, but if so, what can i do now??  it was brown/black & my apt. is white, so i painted it.  thanks again

Hi Sunny,

Thanks for asking me.

Usually one does not repaint a Buddha image.  Since you had done it, there is actually nothing to worry about.  The Buddha image is just an image for you to reflect on the virtues of the Buddha, his teachings, and to pay reverence to the Teacher.  It is all in your mind.  The important thing is that you practise the Buddha's teachings.

I was brought up in the 50's as a Buddhist.
