Please could you tell me a bit about the Buddhism religion i am very interested

Forgive me but I can not really answer this. As it is
a bit general kate. I would recommend wikkipedia or one of the other excellent web sites for a general overview.
I am always happy to address specific questions that arise through people approaching Buddhism.
