Question
QUESTION: I have sat in zen practice off and on for 10 years - soto and rinzai.  I am conflicted as to why I would want to return to regular sitting again.  Isn't everything a person can expect out of life based on getting through each day the best way they can?, dealing with all kinds of issues each day?  How would sitting again improve my life?
ANSWER: Have you a Zen Teacher ?

QUESTION: at present I have no zen teacher but I'm exploring where there might be one handy.

Answer
I see.
I think it is all about personal relationship between teacher and student. You need to find a teacher that inspires you,
who teaches your the view. Sitting is then something you
would do within that context.

The Buddhist path is about moving towards truth, and enlightenment . At that point your life is challenged and
and daily issues are in this big perspective.
