What are the 10 fetters, to which you referred as a note when answering a question on vipassana?

I can't remember that question; but just the same , the 10 fetters are:

1. Belief in a personality (ego, soul)
2. Sceptical doubt
3. Clinging to useless rites and rituals
4. Sensuous craving
5. Ill-will
6. Craving for fine material existence (heaven?)
7. Craving for immaterial (formless) existence
8. Conceit
9. Restlessness
10.Ignorance

These are the hindrances (fetters) that bind beings to the wheel of existence.

Experience

I was brought up in the 50's as a Buddhist. For the past 40 years I have read numerous books on Buddhism and listened to numerous talks on Buddhism by well-respected and learned monks and lay teachers. I conduct Buddhist classes for parents of Sunday School children in a Theravada Buddhist Temple. My teacher was the late Chief Reverend, The Ven.
