Question
hi, help! I'm running out of time and she must start school in hong kong aug 1,2008. My daughter is a international studies major who been accepted to study her final college year in hong kong. My finances are tight and I'm a single parent and i have two weeks to pay for her flight and my job is on summer session with no pay. The cost one way is $550.00 How CAN I FIND A SPONSOR OR A MUCH CHEAPER WAY$

Answer
Hi Kimberly Howard,

You don't say where your daughter will be flying from, so I can not fully research fares for her.  Go to http://www.travelbargainsites.com for a list of cheap travel sites. I created this site because people were always asking me on how to save on airfare.  Different sites have different deals.  One site offers discount fares for students.   Another site compares the fares of all the airlines.  Once you find out the lowest rate, then you may be able to haggle with the Priceline or Hotwire site for even a greater discount.  This is a long shot, but if your daughter can travel with limited luggage, then she may be able to fly as a courier.   A courier carefully hand delivers an item for a company in exchange for a very low air fare.  If she wants to be a courier, then she should go to http://www.courier.org to see if there are any flights to Hong Kong.
