Budget Travel/NJ to FL- advice please!
Expert: Gary C. Dunn - 11/27/2011
QuestionHi Gary- I really hope you can help me out. I need to go from South Jersey to Miami, FL. I'm terrified of driving on highways with more than 3 lanes each side. I'm also traveling by myself with my bunny rabbit. For this reason, I'd like to do the trip with no more than 2 motel stays. (Plus I'm on a budget). I've heard Route 1 is not highway like I-95. Is this a good idea? I've heard DC is very scary too. I do have a GPS and would like to start plotting my course since I have to leave in a few days. I first thought about just plugging in the destination address in FL, and "least use of highways" but worried where it might take me. I don't want to go through places similar to Newark, NJ. Any help will be sooo greatly appreciated. Thank-you for your kind time and help.
Respectfully,
Susie
AnswerHi Susie, I grew up in NJ and drove I-95 many times to Miami. I would recommend that you drive about 11 hours each day and you can do the 1,226 miles in two days of full driving, with breaks when ever you get tired. Learn more details here:
