Question
Dear Mr. Dunn,

I was perusing the experts in the travel section and noticed your comments about living rent-free in oarts of the US. Is that possible?

I live in New York City. The last couple of years alone have been traumatizing. I've lived here all my life. I'm sick of it. I'm sick of how New York City works. I'm north of 35 years old and I yearn for a reasonably quiet life outside of the city, perhaps even the state.

Thing is I haven't traveled much in my life. I've never been on my own, but I'm taking steps to learn. Any suggestions or advice besides finding rent-free living opportunities outside of New York City would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

David
