Hello,
We are planning on honeymooning in Arizona. We are interested in fairly remote inns and bed and breakfasts and enjoy outdoorsy type activities. We will probably have one income and not very much money. Any suggestions on saving money would be great.
Thanks!
Andrew

Dear Andrew: First and foremost CONGRATS on your opending marriage!
I could use a bit more information such as:
1) Where do you live and how are you planning to travel to AZ?
2) How long will you be on your Honeymoon?
3) You mention remote Inns and B&B's....do you plan on
stayin at one lodging in AZ or will you be on the
move so that you need more than one lodging?
Pending further above info I can toss out the following:
Here is a very free excerpt from our quarterly Steve & Pat's Cheap Travel Newsletter. the article deals with the very issue, B&B's, you raised. I would add that it might be possible to use TWO books purchased by each of you, especially if purchased prior to your marriage. YOu would need to check with respective B&B's on such usage. Two could certainly be used if you were visiting more than one lodging in AZ. Such doulble usage could save you literally hundreds of dollars. Here's my article:
SAVE UP TO $650: FREE B & B NIGHT
There is no better time to inform new readers and ‘remind’ long time subscribers of the fabulous savings offered by American Historic Inns Bed & Breakfast and Country Inns Guide. The 17th Edition of the guide is hot off the press and we give it our highest recommendation.
The Guide offers quarter page descriptions of more then 1,500 American bed and breakfast inns in all 50 states plus Canada and U.S. territories. The inns range from very good to opulent with room prices from $50 to $650 per night. Did we mention that each guide offers a full page coupon good for ONE FREE NIGHT at any listed B & B and this means YOU SAVE up to $650.
Even better, CTN readers are offered a 23% discount off the guide’s regular price.
When it comes to this guide we are talking from experience. During each of the past five years we have made a pre Christians mid-week trek to one of the country’s most famous and delightful villages, Carmel, California, home of Doris Day, Clint Eastwood (Carmel’s former Mayor) and Pebble Beach Golf Club. We stay in a decorated fireplace room at the Cobblestone Inn just two blocks from Carmel’s Christmas tree and several more blocks to all shops, restaurants and the ocean. Considering the location the $155 price of our room, including wine, cheese hour and full country breakfast is down right reasonable. On top of that our Bed & Breakfast Guide’s coupon give us ONE $155 NIGHT FREE. Why Cobblestone? Check out their web site at: www.cobblestoneinncarmel.com
While most B & B prices are between $100 and $200 per night many of the guide’s exotic offerings charge $400 to the top $650 per night price and YES, the coupon is good for ONE FREE NIGHT that INCLUDES THE $400-$650 priced rooms. Curious about that $650 room
Here is the LINK to the awesome Lakehouse Inn on Golden Pond located in Rhinebeck, New York. Their $650 Master Suite offers stunning lake views, canopy king bed, oriental carpets, fireplace and two person Jacuzzi bath.

Also, here is my very free Article that details our FREE AIRLINE travel strategies, the ones that have seen us flying free to most points on the globe during our six months per year of travel over the past six years. the article is in my BLOG at:

Another resource usable not only for lodging but also for local attractions and incredible savings on dining is Go to www.Entertainment.com and check out their Arizona editions.
Remember, these books usually pay for themselves after one or two uses so that they are money savers even if visiting a city for 3-4 days. Also, some multiple restaurant coupons will be good throughout the state should you be leaving the book's 'city.'
Did you know that Time magazine, some years ago, included as number ten in its list of the worlds MOST ROMANTIC CITIES....none other than TUSCON AZ! Star studded nights and unique hills of giant Sagauro (sic) cactus etc.
Following is a web note on our favorite funky 'carnivore' restaurant in Tuscon:
There is a locally owned resturant in Tucson AZ called Pinnacle Peaks. They have the best steaks and ribs in town! They open their doors either at 5pm or 5:30pm so be there early so you can get a table. Or you'll be waiting for one for awhile. Even if you do have to wait, it is well worth it since their food is so good! The resturant has a wild wild west theme to it. Another tip, do not wear a tie! Because if you do, they will cut it off and they hang it on the wall. I don't know what the point of this is, but it is cute. There are rows and rows of cut of ties all over the resturant. So if you're ever in Tucson, eat at Pinnacle Peaks!
Good luck and hope some of this helps. Steve Tanenbaum

AnswerHi Andrew:
Not all that much more I can add. But can confirm that Entertainment books are available for Tuscon and PHoenix.
Also, Entertainments current offer, at least one they sent me offers: If I supply them your email address they will send you a Free shipping plus $5 off any Arizona or for that matter any of their books. Your call...If interested send my your email address and I'll submit to Entertainment. Oh, I receive two Movie tickets for the referral.
Assuming you will be in Phoenix or Tuscon the Entertainment book is an absolute MUST since you will save $$$$
This together with the Historic Inns book can save you even more.
Hopefully you are using a airline program for free flights. If not then next time around per my Blog article/strategies.
Good Luck. Steve T.
