Question Hi,
I am going to Europe next spring. I am planning to go from Paris to Venice. I checked europerail.com and found the train to be too expensive. Then I checked budget airlines, and found Ryanair in my budget. Is it safe? Which airport in Paris does it leave from, and how do I get there?
Thanks in advance
Answer Hi Veronica:
We recently flew Ryan from Italy to Scotland and again from Glasgow back to London and enjoyed the amazing low fares, $6 to London! As for safety.... WE MADE IT! Okay, seriously, a have neither heard nor know of any safety issues with Ryan Air. You can do further Google research. Here is an interesting site with RYAN air customers comments: http://www.airlinequality.com/Forum/ryan.htm
RYAN offers NO FRILLS OR FOOD OR DRINKS and RYAN limits check in luggage to about 32 pounds which meant we needed special LIGHT luggage or pay their hefty overweight fee of I think $4-$8 per pound. There were crowded long lines and in the end both flights were fine.
Ryan airports are smaller ones located usually within an hour drive of the major cities like Paris (Beauvais is about 50 miles north of Paris) and Treviso a bit closer I think.
This company offers transportation to Beauvais from the Arc de Triumphe for the one way price of 18Euros or about $23. http://www.capitolshuttle.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details
Let me know if you need advice on a Paris hotel. We just stayed 1 ˝ months in a fabulous apartment but also enjoyed the Chaplain Rive Gauge two star hotel.
