Having no personal experience with Travelocity I tried Trip Advisor. Here are 250 postings from people who have used Travelocity for their bookings.

As for 'security' it is likely Travelocity uses OK encrypted site BUT I suggest you contact their customer service with all such questions.

I can add that I would use any 'name brand' travel vendor web site if they offered the deal I was looking for. I note that some Trip Advisor comments go like: not as it looked in the travelocity picture.....   I would rely on MYSELF to find the hotel or to research the hotel Travelocity is offering, often by using Trip Advisor. So that I am responsible for the hotel, location, confirming amenties and checking user reviews and then use Travelocity for getting the best price.
