Question
Can you please tell me what "Interline" travel is all about? Who is it for? Why does it exist? What is unique about this service that other travel services cannot provide. Thanks.

Answer
Hi Larry:

Interline was new to me and was eager to check it out. In the end you may know as much as I do about it. In any case, their web site notes it a partial 'private' travel agency, working like Costco or Sams club, and open only to airline personnel and their families. I am aware that airline people do receive amazing. Okay, could not log on as an airline employee but part of their web site, like hotels/condos, is available to the public. I tested a condo/hotel in Hawaii and got a rate of $94 with no description of the room and amenities, which is strange to say the least. Just listed as HOTEL ROOM. I checked other discount sites and found rates for a variety of bed configerations etc. running from $75.

In our newsletter I've been advising readers regarding a long standing test regarding Travel Agent credentials I literaly and very legally purchased from Global Interntional Travel. On many occasions I will access private Travel Agents only areas of web sites since I have the necessary IATA number. On the whole this experiment has seen us capture some amazing savings on hotels and tours ex: 8 days Egyt tour departing from Paris. Price from Sunnyland TOurs was $1600 but the FAM (travel agent) rate was $1100. Just recently we stayed at the HOtel du Fort in MOntreal. Regular price for a studio apartment in this high end property was about $120. We were givne the Travel Agent rate of $82 per night.

Global also give each agent a web site even though I spend ZERO time selling travel. Again only an experiment to see what travel savings we would enjoy. We pay a yearly renewal fee to Global of about $125. So far we've always saved much more then the renewal fee. Here is what a GLobal (free) web site looks like: www.cheapskate.globaltravel.com

If by some chance you are interested in learning more about Global let me know.

Sorry I can not add any more info regarding Interline.
