Hello. I have had two parakeets for about 4 months. They have been great together. It was normal to see them preening and sharing food together. I couldn't have asked for them to be better friends. Now, almost over night my slightly older bird has been picking on the other one. He will attack my smaller bird for no reason. I don't understand and I am worried. I don't want to separate them, because they used to do so well together. Now I don't know what to think. Please help with some expert advice.

Hi, Lydia.  Thanks for posting!

How old are these birds?  Do you know their sexes?  What type of diet are they one?  Also, how big of a cage do you have them housed together in?  It's breeding season and hormones are running rampant!  If your birds are 2 females, this might explain the problem.  

Sometimes, birds don't get along well together and it's necessary to separate them.
