Question
My daughter has lost about 4 birds, young ones following a pest control visit to our home. She now has one that is frothing at the mouth and we have separated it from the others. It seems to pick up for a while. It has had these symptoms for the last 3 days. Frothing from the mouth, and appeared to be attempting to cough and then brings up a clear frothy substance. Could this be from the poison or something else not related

Answer
Hi, Brian,

I'd say this bird has been poisoned.  Get the bird to a certified avian vet immediately or this bird will most likely die.

Birds have very sensitive respiratory systems.  You cannot use any type of sprays, incense, cleaning solutions with toxic substances in them, cigarette smoke, candles with essential oils, hair spray, perfume/cologne, carpet fresheners, etc., etc. in/around your birds.  Definitely the pest control visit and the poisons they use have resulted in this situation.
