Budgies/budgie blue foot

Question
My budgies left foot is turning blue, is this a serious problem? He has not been in an accident or anything of that nature. Is this a common thing, or should we take him to the vet?

Answer
Hi, Tammy,

I don't know, you haven't provided enough information for me to evaluate.  Some budgies' feet are/look blue, so I'd say this can be normal.  However, if your birds feet were some other color and are now turning blue, blood circulation may be cut off for some reason.  If this is a young bird, perhaps the bird is just growing older and getting adult coloration.  Without further information, you may need to consult a certified avian veterinarian (a regular cat/dog vet won't due).
