Question My baby has split leg and a crocked wing but flew out of her nest. She is seven or eight weeks I havent seen her eat or drink is she too young to be away from her parents. What do I do she needs help because of her foot mobility she really likes me touching her. I am worried what do I do to get her to eat and drink?
Answer I would take her to a vet, to have her leg and wing looked at, just to be safe. While you're there, ask for some formula to give her. Its cheap, and the vet might even give it to you free (mine did). They have mixes that you can prepare, and use an oral syringe to feed her. They'll usually eat just as if you were its parent.
Try using an eyedropper to get her to drink. This worked for me when I had a bird fall from the nest. Its normal for them to like to be held, they like the security and warmth of your hand.
I wouldn't wean just yet. Give her another few weeks.
