Question My outdoor budgie aviary was infested with mice. We dug it out right to its base where the tin that it is made of stops. What i want to know is what we should use as the new base. It needs to be as mice proof as possible. It also needs to be suteable for quails because we have two of them.
Thanks:)
Answer Hi mackenzie!
I've had one outdoor aviary and as a base I used wire mesh, such as the one on this picture:
I found that it was sturdy enough to withstand everyday wear and tear and I never had problems with mice. It is fairly inexpensive and, when installed right, I never had any problems with any birds getting hurt.
