Question
Never had parakeets before so just learning. Noticed my two keets (one male/one female) have taken to "hanging" from the side of the corner/cage and holding on with their feet (and their beaks). They have been sleeping on the perch (in the same corner which is still thre) before starting this. Why are they doing this?

Answer
Hi, Gina!

Okay,  there's good news and bad news.  The bad news is, no one really knows why budgies do this, so I can't help you there.  I've read dozens of books on budgies, and raised them for over 10 years, but no one knows why they do this.  The good news is, this is normal behavior, albeit weird and kind of funny to watch!

Good luck with your new birds!
-Leah
