Question
Hey there to everyone
This morning our budgie was not itself. It has been sitting in the bottom of the cage, closing it's eyes more often than usual, not eating and becoming distant from his mate. He is also excreting slimy green droppings. Can anyone help us out? Also Does any one know if it could be contageous to his mate?
cheers

Answer
In birds, pretty much anything can be contageous. This sounds like an internal illness that needs to be checked out by an avian vet ASAP. Birds can not stay sick very long before there bodies give in.
I cant help further because I am not able to examine the bird in my own hands. Please take him to a vet and get him checked out. They will tell you what to do.
