Should I get a budgie or cockatiel?
What are the pros and cons?

Hello Kelsang!

Though I specialize in Budgies, I am familiar with Cockatiels. If you looking for a bird that will be a companion and want be around you a lot, go with a tiel. Cockatiels are more intellegent than Budgies, and are more devoated to the owner. Budgies are more of a prize bird, they are beautiful, but often refuse the love and attention humans give to them. However, this is not always the case. I have come across a few budgies that love to be around people and I have also come across some Cockatiels that hate people. Its all based around where you get the bird, and what its background is really. If your going to get a bird from a petstore, dont have High Hopes its going to bond with you right off the bat. If you decide to get one from a breeder who has handled the birds since hatching, they are more likely to become accustomed to you.
