Question
my budgies have been mating for the first time. i have just seperated them as the male budgie is bleeding and raw looking when he gets excited. i took him to vet but they didnt seem to know what to do.

Answer
Hello Kerri, did you take him to an AVIAN vet? If your just taking him to a regular vet they could be telling you they know what to do when they really dont, just to get your money. I would suggest you try and keep your budgie in a warm place, with not bright light. Give him fruits and veggies as well as seed and clean water. I'm not entirely sure how he became bleeding from just mating.

Hope I Helped!
