Question
I just bought 2 parakeets. The first day (2 dyas ago) they were both nice and singing together.Today the one smaller parakeet was flapping their wings and squalking for a long time. Now tonight the "mean"one keeps eating and when the "nice" one tries too eat the mean one pushes him away! they still sit together and everything. What do I do???

Answer
Hello Steph! They are just displaying dominance. Nothing wrong with that. My parakeets squack and flap their wings frantically on the perches all the time, I'm not sure why they do this, but it doesnt mean something is wrong with them. Just keep and eye out for any too aggressive violence. If it looks like one parakeet is not letting the other eat, add another food bowl to the cage. It doesnt have to be next to the old one, or attached to the cage it can sit on the bottom and farther away from the other food bowl would be better. The mean parakeet can only be in one place at a time. =)

Hope I Helped!

Thanks Steff.
