Budgies/Budgie Breeding

Question
I have a pair of budgies for last one year. They are surely bonded pair as I have seen the male feeding the female and also mating. Recently I have given them a breeding box. The female has layed two eggs last week and remains inside the box for most of the time. What worries me is that the male is not feeding her now and is least bothered to go to the box. I have hardly seen the female outside. Even if she come out she just sits on the swing or perch and quickly goes back in. Although she is active and looks fine, I am a bit concerned about her diet. Please help.

Answer
Amit,

She is eating and drinking at some point. Budgies cannot live or thrive but a few short days without water to begin with. Start learning about breeding budgies as much as possible by reading a few books and preparing yourself for when the eggs hatch. Learning to handfeed will be beneficial as well.

Best of luck
