Question
my nest box for 5 hatched parakeets oldest is 9 days old can I & should I clean the nest box and handle the babies?
Connie,
I always handle the babies from day one. At 9 days old they should already be used to you picking them up unless you are not trying to hand tame them. I usually clean my nest boxes out every 4 or 5 days at this point. Don't use chemicals, just take out old nesting material and put new in.
