Question
My budgie has a small brown/red spot on his bottom eyelid. It has been getting darker. It could be a irritated spot that has bled i am not sure but i don't think it is scaly face. What should i do??

Please help!
Thanks

Answer
Hi, Hannah.

As long as it isn't bleeding, a lump isn't growing in this spot, your bird can see, etc., just leave it alone.  If the bird is affected by this thing, you should take your bird to an avian veterinarian for a medical evaluation.  If scaly face mites have infected this area, the area will look like warts...scaly face mites bury under the skin, thus, raising the skin in the area to look like warts.
