Question
i had 6 budgies with me. one(a white budgie) of them died 2 days back
and another one(a blue budgie) got very sick so i released him. my
concern is that the blue budgie had little little blue things coming out of
its head before it got sick and now my two other budgies are also
having such things (which i thought were newborn feathers) coming out.
please tell me if this is a disease or something else and is my bird in any
kind of danger?"

Answer
Hi, Vaibhav.

I've never heard of such a thing.  I recommend contacting a certified avian vet about this.  Are you sure these aren't pin feathers coming in?  I've never heard/seen "little blue things" coming from a bird's head.  Any type of thing coming out from a bird's head, and it isn't feathers, is something to be concerned about, particularly if birds are dying.  If these are live things, seems a bird would die long before these things started coming out of the bird's head.  Strange.
