Hi. I was wondering whats the best kind of parakeet feed? Is Kaytee Fusion a good choice?

Hi, Vanessa.  Thanks for posting!

I'm not familiar with Kaytee Fusion seed, so I can't comment.  All seed is a poor diet for a bird.  For parakeets, seed should only be about 25% of their total diet.  They need to have pelleted food, as well as a variety of other healthy, nutritional human foods.  See my website for more information on diet:

I`ve been raising/breeding/handfeeding/selling parrots for over 20 years (parakeets/budgies, cockatiels, 6 subspecies of conures, parrotlets, amazons, lovebirds, etc.). I've been published in "Budgies" and "Cockatiels" offered by Bow Tie Productions, and have written avian articles for publication in England.
