Question
heyy,
ok ive had my budgie Nicki for almost a year and she is half trained and
friendly when she wants to be. My question is when i look at my bird she doesnt
look right.
She almost has bags around her eyes, and and looks very unheathly, wen i look at
her tummy it has a big white spot that carrys on beond her wing, what i want to
know is if my bird is sick now i dont know symtoms but she just doesnt look
right. It could be cause right now her thing on top of her beak is half blue and
still purple so it could be that...but she chirps when shez happy and when the
sun comes out she relaxes by putting her foot up and puffing up.IM really really
scared to lose her because she did have a brother (another bird) and jsut for no
reason 1 day he passes away, and that killed me . Me and Nicki share a special
bond and i love her with all my heart so if u could plz help that would be very
great ...thnx

Answer
Hi, Maple.  Thanks for posting!

You know your bird better than anyone else does...if you think your bird doesn't look right, she probably isn't right.

What type of diet is your bird on?  If your bird is on an all-seed diet, your bird might have a poor nutritional problem.  I have no idea what you mean by "a big white spot that carries on beyond her wing."  Please further explain what you mean by this...is this the coloration that carries on beyond her wing or a lump of some type?  The coloration of your bird's cere doesn't mean the bird is sick.  The puffing up can be a sign of illness.  Does she only puff her feathers up when she's sleeping or does she do this more often?  When did her brother die (how long ago)?

If you can provide answers to my questions, I might be able to help out further.  The more details you can provide, the better able I am to help.
