Question
if my budgie laid 9 eggs the first one 24 days ago then one every other day and is sitting on them more in the last few days? when would they be due to hatch

Answer
Hi, Claire,

I'm sorry for responding late to your question(s).  I was hospitalized and trying to catch up.

It's not necessarily the date the eggs were laid, but the date incubation started.  The 18-day count down begins on the day the female begins incubating 24/7.  This usually starts with the second egg laid.  Therefore, count from the date incubation began to know when to expect the first hatchling, if the egg(s) are fertile to begin with.
