-----Question-----
hi!
2 of my male parakeets are acting really weird(one of the male had eggs with a female).they keep on jumping to the back of the cage, then jumping to the bottom, going on the food perch, squeezing near the food and back again. what does this mean?
-----Answer-----
Katelyn,

I don't know what this means.  Sounds like they are terrified of something.  You'd have to provide more details about what's going on around them, etc., before I can help more.

Answer
Katelyn,

Birds aren't afraid of the dark, however, they can be startled by noises, lights, movements, etc., during the night when lights are off and can become disoriented.  When they become disoriented, they can flap around uncontrollably in their cages.  It helps to keep a nightlight on at night (helps them not become so disoriented when they hear noises, see lights, etc.).
