Question
Hi I got a green and yellow male budgie from a breeder 2 days agohis name is Percy .He was almost tame and very sociable until last night. He has started drooping his head whilst opening and closing his eyes and sometimes shivering his tail.We can not afford to take him to a vet and i want to know if his ok and if i can make him better. Please help from a petlover

Answer
Petlover...I'm sorry if I offended you.  If you have the money to purchase a pet and feed a pet, then you need to do right by your animal and tend to its needs.  I'm sorry your family is ill and you have no money, but your bird needs medical attention, too.  I stand by my response.  The experts on this website aren't avian veterinarians and can only provide advice based on their experiences and knowledge, and we're here to help with problems associated with birds.  However, don't expect us to be able to diagnose medical issues and tell you how to resolve them.  We help where we can.  This is a FREE service and we use our spare personal time to try and help you.

Hi, Petlover.  Thanks for posting!

If you can't afford a vet, you shouldn't have a bird (or any other pet).  Vet bills are part of the responsibility of owning a pet.

Since your bird is a new addition, the bird needs time to adjust to his new environment in your home and get used to you first before s/he'll do much of anything.  Based on the information you provided, I have no idea if your bird is well or not.  I need more detailed information about what is going on.  The more detailed information you can provide, the better I'm able to try and help.
