Question
My male bird courts the female several times but I do not see her laying eggs. Does the female start laying eggs during a particular seasonal time only

Answer
Hi, Julio.

It depends on where you live and how you have your birds set up.  Keets can breed any time of the year if conditions are right for them.

When you say the male "courts" the female, exactly what do you mean?  Do you mean they have mated?  Are there any other birds in the same cage with this pair?  Do you have a nesting box set up for them?  How old are your birds?  Are you sure you have a male and a female?  Are they pair-bonded, i.e., does the male feed the female beak-to-beak?

I need more details, Julio.
