Question
hi chrys um where do you get a budgie breeding box and how do you know if its for a budgie because i went to get a breeding box before and there was lots of boxes but none for budgies just for other birds
Hi, Katherine,
I've found budgie breeding boxes at most pet stores (or those that cater to birds). You can also find them at bird fairs, on the internet, bird auctions, etc. Budgie nesting boxes are about 12" long, about 6" deep and 6" wide. If you don't find them at one store, you'll need to visit another store (call around first). You can try a larger box, however, some budgies won't lay eggs in a box that is too big. You don't necessarily have to buy a wooden nesting box. Some budgies will lay their eggs in a Kleenex box or any other type box affixed properly to their cage, that is stable so parents/babies don't fall through, that can be cleaned, etc., etc.
