Question
Could you please provide me with contact information regarding the buffalo sculptures seen throughout Buffalo. Do you know if there are any available for purchase? I am interested in contacting the artist.

Thank you.

Answer
Bill,

My sincere apologies for my delay in responding to you.  I've had trouble with my wifi and had to come to a coffee shop tonight to catch up on EMAIL.

At one time, they were used as a fundraiser and the individual Buffalos which were displayed throughout the city were sold.  They may be up for private sale, but I'm not sure about it.  There was once a website that chronicled each Buffalo and their ultimate location if the buyer choose to disclose it.  Occasionally it you go to a business or in the suburbs you may see one displayed.

The special arts program was called Herd of Buffalo.  There were many artists who basically decorated various Buffalos.  If there was one you were specifically interested in, i might be able to help you search for the artist.

Attached is the link I mentioned of the pictures.

I believe they were made of fiberglass but was never able to confirm that as they disbanded their official website sometime ago.

Sorry I could not offer more details.  i did several searches including in the local newspaper and came up with nothing as I believe they have been there for some time now.
