why did buffy die the first time? im sorry to ask you this even though you might of been asked this several times but i didn't watch it on TV

Answer
In the first season Buffy was bitten by the master and then he dropped her in a pool of water. She lost consciousness and drowned. Angel and Xander found her a few moments later and Xander gave her CPR and revived her. That was the first time she died and Kendra was called. After Kendra died we got Faith and still have her. The second time Buffy died she jumped into the gate that was opened by Dawn's blood in the (I think it was) eighth season.
