why was  faith  so hasrsh?  what  made  her  the way  she  was?  what  are  the  difference  between  faith buffy  and  kendra who  was  the  best  slayer?

Hi.

By Faith being harsh, do you mean the fact that she was a bit harsh towards Buffy in the motel room? When Buffy came into Faith's motel room to ask questions about the demon Kakistos and discovered that Kakistos had killed Faith's watcher? Is that what you mean?

I think that Faith is generally a little rough around the edges because of her difficult childhood. She had to be tough because she had to get along on her own and things wasn't always easy for her. She isn't really a bad person on the inside but she has to act like she's cold and impenetrable because she's afraid that if she shows her feelings and is nicer to people, she'll become vulnerable.

You asked about the difference between Buffy, Faith and Kendra. Did you mean their personalities or what exactly?
First there was Buffy who was called to her duty as a slayer at the age of 15 (The former slayer must've died before that because a slayer is only called when the previous slayer dies. However, I don't remember it ever having been told in the series who the slayer before Buffy was and how she was killed.) After Buffy was called she moved from L.A. to Sunnydale. After a year of slaying in Sunnydale Buffy faced The Master and The Master drank of her and left her to drown in a pool. Buffy was dead for a few minutes but Xander revived her (This happened in the last episode of season 1, "Prophecy Girl"). So because Buffy was dead for a moment, the next slayer was called. She was a Jamaican girl, Kendra. Kendra was taught that a slayer could not have friends or family since she is alone with her duty to save the world. She was very amazed about the fact that Buffy had friends and that her friends knew that she's a slayer. Anyway, Kendra was killed by Drusilla in the episode "Becoming, part 1". Kendra's death lead to the calling of the next slayer, Faith. Faith was a tough slayer and she really enjoyed beating up vampires and demons, sometimes too much. Eventually she became too bad and beyond reach of the Scooby Gang's attempts to help her. She went to the enemys side.

Who was the best slayer? I guess Buffy is the best slayer because the show is about her. Kendra was quite a good slayer, but obviously not good enough since she got herself killed. Faith turned evil, but we'll be seeing her again in seasons 4 and 7.
