Question
There is a song in Looney Tune cartoons that always plays when the characters are in a factory, or building something.  It starts with a bass line that repeats and then horns come in with the melody...  very hard to explain through typing, but yeah, do you happen to know the name of this song?

Answer
I honestly didn't think I'd be able to find the answer to this!  But I thought, well, I'll look around a bit before I admit defeat.  I do recall the music you mean, but it can be very difficult to track down music from cartoons!

But this piece is called "Powerhouse," originally written by Raymond Scott and orchestrated for Looney Tunes by composer Carl Stalling, who did all of the music for Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes, both by writing his own music for them, and by appropriating music from classical and popular sources.  Scott's tunes were among Stalling's favorites.

Check out http://raymondscott.com/FAQ.htm and you can hear "Powerhouse".  Also information on Stalling can be found in about the middle of this very indepth article on Warner Bros. music in general: http://www.rhino.com/features/liners/75287lin3.html

I love Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies, and can probably answer questions on Bugs Bunny, Daffy, Duck, Elmer Fudd, etc. I`m best on cartoons directed by Chuck Jones, but also have seen several Friz Freleng shorts, as well as Robert McClampett and Tex Avery (including his hilarious MGM stuff). I have not seen every Looney Tunes short, so may have to plead ignorance on some questions--now if Warner Bros. would just hurry up and release them on DVD...

Experience

Have seen many of the Looney Tunes shorts, but not nearly all of them.
